Originally from Glendale, California, Sam is a practicing artist in Philadelphia, primarily working as a painter, but also with weaving. He is interested in the ways in which repetition, intervals, pattern, and texture can be investigated pictorially and tangibly, in relation to real, remembered, and imagined landscape. He is the Assistant Director of Admissions at PAFA and works with Graduate (Master of Fine Arts, Low-Residency Master of Fine Arts, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program) and Undergraduate (Bachelor of Fine Arts) applicants.
